Abstract

Comparative spatial analysis provides the audience with a proper view of the location and the past and present conditions of the evaluated territory. Therefore, examining the spatial distribution of the country's population can reveal issues such as imbalance in population settlement and exploitation of territorial resources and social-economic issues in general. This research is also based on the mission of analyzing the spatial pattern of population development, focusing on the villages of Shebastar city, to analyze the spatial pattern of settlements and how the population is distributed in this area. The research method is practical and with an analytical-descriptive approach based on the collection of statistical, documentary and library data. The data analysis process has been done using spatial analysis tools in ArcGIS Pro software. The results of the research in the nearest neighbor model indicate that the necessary points have been obtained, which indicates the significance of the statistical test. In the results of multi-distance spatial pattern analysis, the residential units of the city almost follow the cluster pattern. In the results of determining Moran's autocorrelation index, the spatial pattern governing population distribution in Shabestar city is random. Also, the examination of the time periods tells the movement of the population towards clustering and shows the polar pattern to some extent. Finally, the application of several spatial analyzes in the research is an output and a confirmation of the settlement conditions of the population of the residential units of Shebastar city.
